LTCH uses technology in all aspects of its work where this can improve the delivery of our services. Data is securely held in commercial cloud-based servers, enabling all staff and volunteers to access only the areas they need for their work.
When Paul and Liz are not in Kampala, they keep in touch with the local staff through Teams meetings. They are also able to undertake quality control assessments of hearing tests with full access to all patient records.
All accounting data is held centrally, enabling our honorary treasurer to keep a close eye on expenditure both in the UK and in Uganda.
Complex hearing test data is shared with volunteer UK-based audiologists for analysis and second opinions.
UK based audiologists also supervise staff in Kampala in the fitting of hearing aids via Zoom connections. See a short video here
