Here are two of our audiology volunteers

Anushri Patel

Anushri graduated from University College London with an MSc in Audiological Science in 2008. Since then, she has worked as an audiologist within the NHS, with a primary focus on paediatric audiology.

Anushri recently took on a role as Audiology Advisor for the National Deaf Children’s Society, but continues to work one day a week within the NHS, where she performs newborn diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings. Anushri is a member of the British Society of Audiology Paediatric Audiology Special Interest Group, contributing to the development of national guidance in the field. With a wealth of experience in all aspects of paediatric audiology, she is a passionate advocate for high-quality care for deaf children.

Anushri assists Let the Children Hear by remotely mentoring audiologists in Uganda, to support them in the assessment and management of deafness in children.

Keri Abbot

Keri is a Clinical Scientist in Audiology working in the NHS in Manchester.  She specialises in paediatric audiology.

She first became involved with LTCH in 2022 after responding to a request for volunteers. She has done some previous teaching in audiology in Malawi and was keen to continue working in Africa.  She has made two trips to the clinic in Kampala, Uganda to provide hands on training and guidance for the local audiologists. When back in the UK, she continues to mentor clinics via Zoom in addition to participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.
